Vietnamese Culture Night
Vietnamese Culture Night
The Vietnamese Culture Night (VCN) is CSUN Vietnamese Student Association (VSA)’s annual theatric showcase in the Spring academic semester. The goal of VCN is to tell a different story each year on the variety of subjects affecting the Vietnamese community in America. It also presents the opportunity for our members to get highly involved, whether it be acting, playwright, pre-production design, managing, staging, etc.

Synopsis
Determined but deeply in love Sang, an elderly Vietnamese man, tells his grandkid about the story of how he fell in love and married his wife, Tâm, a naive yet strong-willed woman. The story is told from the Trung Thu of 1966 until the Tết of 1971, fifty-one years in the past, in a small village near Huế citadel, Việt Nam. Because of a critical event during the war in Việt Nam, Tết Máºu Thân 1968, both Sang and Tâm had go through a difficult journey filled with social injustice and betrayal to be with each other. Through a series of flashbacks and performances, the show conveys a love story of the grandparent to pass down to the grandkid as a gift of memory when Sang can still remember.
